Seventy-year-old Mahin, who has been lonely until now, decides to revive his love life. A chance encounter turns into an unforgettable evening.. Mahin: Are you afraid of death? Faramarz: No, I am afraid of dying alone.. Shabe Golestan TanhaSinger: Dariush RafieerWriter: Majid Vafadar Lyrics: Mahmood Sanaee. I’ve yet to see a larger-than-life Iranian film whose characters defy physics, logic, and emotion—and here’s another sweet little gem to add to that list. This is a story of two 70-year-olds finding love in one beautiful evening, sharing life’s little details and appreciating its little moments along the way. We meet Mahin (the utterly charming Lili Farhadpour) as she goes about her day realizing more about herself through life’s interactions with the people around her. Faramarz (Esmaeel Mehrabi, playing the tender partner to perfection) enters her life as casually as possible, and this leads to interesting conversations, wine and entertainment. A belated (and expected) turnaround only reminds you how happy moments don’t last forever, but neither do sad ones. Also, how can you not first smile (and then sigh) when all this is going on in a country big on moral policing?
