Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE NEEDLE GIRL follows Karoline (Vic Carmen Sonne), a young factory worker struggling to survive in post-war Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an illegal adoption agency, helping mothers find foster families for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to go, Karoline takes on the role of nanny. A strong bond forms between the two women, but Karoline’s world comes crashing down when she discovers the shocking truth behind her job.
